Great news that common sense has prevailed (for now):

The article contains a paragraph that sums up everything is wrong with modern-day Britain:
Councillors commissioned an equality impact report that concluded: “The General Buller statue represents the patriarchal structures of empire and colonialism which impact negatively on women and anyone who does not define themselves in binary gender terms. The consultation will need to ensure that the views of women, transgender and non-binary people are captured and given due weight.”
What in the name of God does any of that utter tripe actually mean?

Where there any “transgender and non-binary people” around in Sir Redvers day? I thought they were a modern phenomenon. Hard to imagine he upset them before their time.
Modern-day ‘snowflakes’ have to keep coming up with new things to be pretend to be offended by.
