I’ve been ‘cancelled’!

Well, I never considered myself to be especially ‘with it’, so I was rather thrilled to receive the screen shot below from a friend. Seems I am joining the likes of J.K. Rowling, Lawrence Fox, and Adele on the list of those who have been ‘cancelled’ in the bastard of a year that is 2020:

I think it was Gandhi who said:
“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win”…

James Barry Munnnik Hertzog was also “Cancelled” – in December 1912

“The 1913 Natives Land Act in South Africa: Politics , Race , and Sefregation in the Early 20th Century”
    Harvey M Feinberg

    Footnote 22

“I should say that the feeling between the Dutch and English is far worse than – at any rate in the Cape Colony – it was before Union”

Merriman to Molteno July 2 1912

So you see old Bulldog — WHAT did the ABW accomplish ?
It is quite clear that the Boers won the peace !

One needs to go back to the Convention of London in 1814 to see where the British made their first mistake !
( The Cape of Good Hope was a bit of a footnote compared to the real prizes — the Spice Indies )
A look at the history of the other colonies would be helpful — North America / Canada / Australia / New Zealand
