It’s been a while since I posted any of the rantings on Quora of those so wedded to the Apartheid-era myths, but some clown called ‘Kobus Scheepers’ brightened my afternoon today, so I thought I’d share his entertaining ignorance:
As you can see, poor old Kobus really doesn’t have the first clue about either Geography or History (or, indeed, spelling), but was more than happy to make a complete fool of himself online, muddling-up various half-remembered, self-serving myths, and spewing them out in an incoherent mess.
Anyone who has been accosted by a True Believer in a bar, or at a braai, in South Africa, will recognise the ill-considered rubbish he says, and I am sure he – and his ilk – will still be spreading their nonsense for many years to come.
Just when we thought our entertainment was over, Kobus popped up again. Of course, he was completely unable to defend any of the lies he had spewed out, so instead (surprise, surprise) desperately tried to change the subject:
Squealing about the Concentration Camps is, of course, the standard, go-to response whenever a True Believer is proven wrong, and is simply proof that they have lost the argument.

Im sure Kobus is perspiring his way through the CD cover of De La Rey in the hope of a garnered response
Or frantically leafing through his copy of the AWB-approved: “My first book of the Boer War”
My latest round of myth busting, I’m sure Kobus’ entire world would not cope – this one puts the 1914 Boer Revolt into its correct context: https://samilhistory.com/2023/08/13/boer-war-3-and-beyond/
More great stuff, Peter… soon, poor old Kobus and his ilk won’t have any Apartheid-era myths left to cling to.
